岩手県沿岸部に位置する大槌町は、東日本大震災で大きな被害を受けたが、津波によって生まれた湿地帯は希少な動植物の住処となった。大槌町の海沿いでは、自然再生・保護がこのまちの新たなアイデンティティや活力となる可能性を感じる。一方で、山間部は現在消滅可能性都市となっており、やや衰退してきている印象である。
そこで、山間部での自然再生・保護活動としてオオカミの再導入を行うことで、大槌町全体がそのアイデンティティを強め、より豊かなまちになるのではないかと考えた。
本研究ではオオカミ再導入方法を検討し、山間部の廃校にこの土地の自然を学び体験出来る空間を提案する。
Otsuchi-cho, located on the coast of Iwate Prefecture, was damaged by 3.11 earthquake , but the wetlands created by the tsunami became a habitat for rare animals and plants.
Along the coast of Otsuchi-cho, I feel the possibility that natural regeneration and conservation will become a new identity and vitality for this town.
On the other hand, the mountainous area is a city at risk of disappearing , and it seems to be declining a little.
Therefore, I thought that by reintroducing wolves as a natural regeneration and protection in mountainous areas, whole of Otsuchi-cho will get its identity and become a richer town.
In this study, the method of reintroducing wolves is discussed, and a place where you can learn and experience the nature of the this place is designed in the abandoned school in mountainous areas.
