羽田空港と浜松町を繋ぐ東京モノレールから見える空港周辺緑地は画一的なものばかりである。そこで、羽田空港跡地でありながらそのアクセスの悪さから再開発の余白地となっている空地であり、モノレールがトンネルに入るまでの約20秒間の車窓景観を対象地とし、渡り鳥の往来や東京湾の干満など複数の時間軸の中で変化している要素を引き込むことで、旅立つ前の一瞬の風景を作った。飛行機による移動の環境負荷の大きさを考え周辺の自然環境に貢献する空港との物質循環の場にするだけでなく、空港敷地に海鳥の営巣地を作ることが、バードストライク件数日本一の羽田空港において航空交通の安全につながる。
The green spaces around the airport seen from the Tokyo Monorail that connects Haneda Airport and Hamamatsucho are all uniform. Therefore, I chose as my subject the scenery seen from the train window for about 20 seconds before the monorail train enters the tunnel, which is vacant land due to its poor accessibility. By drawing in elements that change over multiple time axes, such as the passage of migratory birds and the tides of Tokyo Bay, I created a scene from the moment before the departure. Considering the large environmental impact of air travel, not only will it be a place for material circulation with the airport that contributes to the surrounding natural environment, but creating a nesting site for seabirds on the airport grounds will contribute to the safety of air traffic at Haneda Airport, which has the highest number of bird strikes in Japan.
