"Building wind is a new urban nature created by the redevelopment of high-rise building construction. By incorporating building wind into the space as ""urban nature"" rather than ""urban issues,"" I believe we can reorganize the redevelopment area and bring about new landscapes and experiences. Using the area in front of Keisei Hikifune Station in Kyojima, Sumida-ku as the target site, I propose a design for a station square in the redevelopment area to take advantage of the wind and carry on the downtown character of the area.
Kyojima is a densely wooded area with strong community ties, but with the maintenance and redevelopment of the area from a disaster prevention perspective, the downtown scenery and community ties are declining. Therefore, by dotting outdoor spaces that embrace the wind and collect personal breezes for one person, open spaces will take on the role of alley spaces, and Kyojima will continue to be a town that inherits its regional character while transforming in accordance with the times."
