Japan is a geothermal powerhouse that boasts the third largest geothermal resources in the world, but because most of these resources are located within national parks, the development of geothermal power generation lags other countries. However, with the deregulation of national parks progressing toward the realization of a decarbonized society, geothermal power generation is expected to increase in the future. In addition, the involvement of landscape architects is required for the development from the viewpoint of landscape consideration. How will the space for geothermal power plants, which will increase in the future, change as it is developed from a landscape perspective? Considering how geothermal power plants should be in national parks and the possibilities of their spaces, I propose geothermal power plants that are open to the local community.
