Tracing the memories of the land -Reconstructing the riverside space of Toride based on the old Tone River course-

Currently, the riverbank is dominated by sports facilities that unconsciously limit users and obscure the land's sense of place. Similarly, the riverbank in Toride City, Ibaraki Prefecture, the subject of this design, has been developed with extensive sports facilities, leaving the land's sense of place obscured.
This design therefore draws on memories engraved in the topography, such as the course of the old Tone River, its connection with the divided Kobori district, and the vegetation of the Tone River, to reconstruct the relationship between the river and town from the diverse spatial experiences that unfold on this basis, aiming to create a new riverbank space that serves as a bridge between the town and the river.
