"“The Fluid Boundary” is a research-based landscape proposal that reconsiders relationships with others in contemporary urban environments through the lens of ecological visual theory. Drawing on the idea that people perceive not isolated objects but relational structures within their surroundings, the study organizes urban visual phenomena into six structural types. Through a psychological evaluation using the Semantic Differential (SD) method, it clarifies the differences in impressions generated by each configuration and derives design implications from these findings.
Based on this analytical framework, the project translates the results into spatial strategies. By manipulating topography, level differences, and coverings, it reconstructs visual relationships within the site. The proposal seeks to create a perceptual experience in which boundaries subtly shift, allowing others to emerge not as background elements but as tangible presences within the landscape. It presents a spatial approach to rearticulating social connections in contemporary cities."
